Hello ladies!
First I thought I would post some background info. I liked this explanation of why a student of God's word might want to read the bible chronologically, although I could not determine the author:
"While many parts of the Bible are correctly printed in order by the time in which it occurred, some things are ordered in different ways for different reasons. The chronological Bible reading plans will help the reader become more aware of the ways things truly happened, and not by the way placed in biblical book order. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the order of the Bible, because the selection of the books compiled is His Word, and the order placed when originally published is part of God's plan. However, having the chance to read it in the actual, historical order of events can allow individuals to understand and more clearly see the story of mankind as it occurred."
I am so excited to be able to try an online biblestudy with ladies I love. I love the convenience of being able to discuss God's Word with you any time without our schedules interfering. Plus, I love that we are not bound by the constraints of place- many of us in different places across Texas.
Bearing that in mind, would you mind introducing yourselves sometime this week so we know the person behind the words? I have a connection to all of you. Wilma is my mom, and Sandra is my mother-in-law. Ashley, Teresa, Lisa, Ann and Amanda I know through Stonewater church. Melissa and Erin are my cousin-in-laws and Misty is my great college friend (even though I actually graduated before she started ETBU). I know Linda from my first college, Ambassador University.
Our discussion leaders include Teresa, Erin, Sandra, Misty, Amanda and myself (although others may be added later). Other biblestudy contributors include Wilma, Melissa, Linda, Lisa, Ann and Ashley. This is our starting group, although others may be added. (BTW 2 of our team members are expecting VERY SOON!)
Here is an idea for an introduction model, but don't feel limited by these topics:
Basic info. Wife, mother of three, teacher
a great experience last year Our family vacation to Seaworld and Tulsa, OK, watching my son get baptized after hearing he accepted Christ at camp with my husband
a difficult experience last year continuous car troubles while Brian was out of stable work
goals for this year pray when I am getting angry with my husband
something silly I like to dance silly with and for my kids
something unusual I grew up in Alaska and attended an odd church until college
salvation experience I grew up wanting to obey God. As a freshman in college I realized how running my own life was not turning out well. I felt I failed in every way possible. I felt sorry for who I was and cried out to God- sobbing. I felt His forgiveness and it was the start of a personal relationship with him. I asked him to run my life, and now I just try to honor that commitment every day.
Have fun reading about creation today!
