Sorry I am just now posting information about myself. For some reason, I never received an automatic email from the blog that anything had been posted so I didn't realize that we were even introducing ourselves till I checked out the website when Amy sent out that email yesterday. I think I've fixed it now but we'll see...so in the meantime I will just try to check it more frequently.
Basic info. wife of nearly 9 years (in May) to Aaron, no children yet, kind of a jack of all trades =)
a great experience last year God’s spirit spoke to me through various ways several times last year and clearly gave me the answers to questions that I had been wrestling with. He also revealed to me different perspectives that helped me get through some of the difficult situations I faced.
a difficult experience last year My mom died December 21st after a 7 year battle with cancer at 52 leaving behind her husband of 34 years and 10 children – 4 girls born first (I'm 3rd oldest) and then 6 boys (2 of which are 8 and 14).
goals for this year to read through the Bible chronologically and be more disciplined about many areas in my life
something silly I like to make silly faces in photos sometimes but I really like sneaking in other people’s photos (usually family and friends) and make funny faces in the background. It gives them a nice fun surprise when they finally look through their photos. Our Christmas photos from last year are a great example. I think it runs in my family though because many of my other brothers and sisters do the same thing. =P
something unusual One night, my husband and I slept in the van of an Egyptian Bedouin at the base of Mt. Sinai in a blizzard. We met him earlier that evening and he gave us a ride there.
salvation experience I grew up in a Christian home and always remember loving the Lord and wanting to serve him. And that’s what I’ve tried to do throughout the almost 30 years (in June) of my life.
We have a blog (sort of) at http://www.lovingthelaengers.blogspot.com/. It was originally created to let people know about our 3 month mission trip to Bethlehem Bible College in Palestine but more recently, it’s been about my mom, the battle with cancer, and her death.
I didn't know that Mt. Sinai story! Wow- there's a story no one can top. Except maybe God, since he made Mt. Sinai.
ReplyDeleteIt's good to "meet" you. I just want to say that I'm sorry for your loss of your mother so recently.
